KD couldn’t have said it any better. Indeed each couple have had a crazy roller coaster adventure on their way to the wedding day and to be honest, based from my personal first hand experience, the ride doesn’t stop there. =)

I lost count how many bridesmaids Joy had but she sure had a crazy bunch at her disposal during her big day! It was a very busy and very animated bridal preparations we’ve seen in a while. =) In contrary, inside the groom’s suite was a group of shy and quiet guys as if waiting calmly for an incoming storm. =)

…And just when you thought that the hot summer day has reached it’s max, the bride’s got Rommel something that raised the room’s sky high temperature even further! =)

I have three empty glasses of what were ice cold heat quenchers sitting on my work station and all I can think of is floating face down in Boracay’s refreshing waters…reminding me of our team’s summer outing that has been postponed and rescheduled for the third time. The Candy Crush Ipad game and my constant need to check my Instagram feed ain’t helping to beat the heat either!…But maybe, just maybe this wonderful wedding SDE will somehow rejuvenate one’s brain cells that has been suffering from this scorching hot summer in addition to the mind-numbingly annoying campaign jingles! =) The quirky fun soundtrack chosen and licensed through musicbed.com by the couple themselves was a perfect fit for Francis & Den’s beautiful morning wedding. International Wedding: Church of Nativity Burke Virginia, USA

A few months ago, I had the chance to shoot my first two weddings in the United States. The plan was fly in there with my wife and get the job done, pretty much what we are used to doing. Although it is always an extra challenge shooting international weddings especially cutting down my usual team of five down to two, I am quite confident knowing that I have my best camerawoman/partner with me. In my mind, nothing could go wrong really, it’s not like we haven’t done it before – in a lot more pressured circumstances even!. =) Friends, in this business, if you ain’t ready for the unexpected, you’re in for one heck of a ride! And like a horror-flick plot twist, I was in for a major surprise. To cut the story short, my wife, my second camera, was unable to fly with me to the US due to her passport getting ripped just as we are about to check in! It’s just that I was flying in from a west coast wedding (I will not be posting my Las Vegas wedding as per my couple’s request) to an east coast carrying/pulling 50 kilos of camera equipment and an additional 20 kilos of personal stuff. =) Well, you know what they say…a man’s gotta do what a man’s gotta do. =)

The wedding film that you are about to see is not possible without the following people: My wonderful friends Mike & Rachelle de los Reyes, who not only helped out during the wedding but also brought me to an epic Temper Trap the night before and toured me around Washington DC (plus a very significant stop at a Lego store outlet) the day after. My wife and I love you so much. Carlo Ilagan, who was generous enough to lend not only a third camera plus lenses but also an extra creative eye during the filming. PTV Mitch Zafe for a beautiful handcrafted film with an awesome soundtrack. You make me proud. So without further ado, here’s Jeff & Ja’s wedding film. =)

Bayani Tour 2013

Last month, my team and I were lucky to be a part of a project that I am truly proud of. It was the first ever Bayani Tour. Spearheaded by Gawad Kalinga USA and in cooperation with Department of Tourism, the purpose of this project is to help connect and experience the colorful Filipino heritage with the young second generation Filipino-Americans based in the United States. Not surprisingly, most of the participants were first time visitors of the Philippines. With Filipino-American Youtube sensations Joseph Vincent, Jeremy Passion and AJ Rafael, the group literally rock n’ rolled all the way from the historical Intramuros & Luneta to the magnificent Underground River in Puerto Princesa, Palawan to the Gawad Kalinga Enchanted farm in Bulacan. Here’s a short highlight of our trip. Hope y’all like it! =)

It’s Valentine’s Day people and by the looks of it, I’ll be spending my night minus the candlelight dinner on petals-covered table with live musical instrument-playing individual and in front of my traffic-free computer desk. My wife just ran off to her Zumba class and it’s a very busy as usual schedule on the PTV editing floor so if February 14 is not a wedding-free Sunday or any given Monday then this is my typical kind of V-Day celebration…’coz I wouldn’t want to be doing anything else but being a buck-naked arrow-yielding flying baby spreading the love. Now that’s my kind of cheese! =) So fall in love with Marc & Aleli’s wedding film because love, after all, is what makes the world go round (of course keeping me in business is just a bonus!) =)

Can somebody please stop me from jumping into the pool? Or better yet, somebody push me please!

February is the unofficial start of the new year in the wedding industry…or at least for me. The madness and hallucinations caused by sleep deprivation slowly disappears along with the cold holiday breeze (in some places) signalling the start of a very eventful, at least for me, summer. Kicking this new season was spending the first Sunday of the month watching UFC Edgar-Aldo slugfest followed by a three movie marathon followed by the TV series Modern Family four-episode marathon. Man life is good. And although post production is as crazy as ever, that it’s how my regular life rolls anyway.But before i hit play on my HD player for another set of butt-sweating tele-movie marathon I thought of sharing this wonderful wedding that we did back in oh so long ago December in Batangas. “You guys are very important.” declared the groom’s father as my wife Gen shyly smiled in approval. “You know why? Because without you, how can we remember this beautiful day?” Although the weather at Phang Nham province was a little bit unpredictable, in the end a beautiful day it was indeed. My wife Gen and Romel were assigned to document this fabulous wedding celebration of Andrew and Jess and judging by the footage that my team was working with during post production and not taking anything away from the wonderful wedding set-up and coordination of Jeanette Skelton, they did an exceptional job.

The Notebook | Roy & Jenny

The year was 2004, I was one of the few most hard working employees in a very respectable company in Makati. From my cubicle, I can hear two of my officemates engaging in an animated discussion about this Ryan Gosling & Rachel McAdams flick and how this film made them cry. Like manna from heaven, it was the perfect chick flick that gives me the best shot of getting this office hottie to go out with me. The film was Nick Cassavetes’ The Notebook and my date that night turned out to be the very first date my wife and I had. Memories of this date in slow motion (some in black and white even) accompanied by a romantic background music flashed back inside my head as Jenny told the story of how Roy told her he loved the film and how it turned her off that he did. What she didn’t know is that my man Roy, and most of the dudes who say they like it, only said it just to get her and she fell for it hook, line and sinker. Either that or the really praise-worthy script, critically-acclaimed performances and Ryan Gosling for God’s sake. =)

Four Leaf Clover / JP & Ann

Sexy is defined by the online Merrian-Webster dictionary as one: sexually suggestive or stimulating, synonymous to erotic and two: generally attractive or interesting, appealing. The short film that you are about to see borderlines these definitions that may, or not, confuse you as to why this adjective has been used as introduction for this blog post in the first place. A trick, perhaps, to keep you glued to your seats as blow after blow of mind-boggling lines that wouldn’t seem to make sense until the very last second or a cheap promo to make this low-cost one day production film somehow interesting. Either way, in addition to the topless bathroom scene in between the first and last frames of this motion picture, the actor Jean Paul Ferrer’s Academy Award-worthy performance may, or not, stimulate one’s inner senses.
