the ultimate roadtrip//karlo & anna

destination wedding: chapel on the hill
reception: antonio’s tagaytay

karlo and anna’s story starts way back when they were kindergarten and they have a photograph to prove it. =) during lunch, the bride happily told us the story of how her groom informed her that even back then, he already had a crush on her. of course she knew it was the kind of stuff he’d say to sound sweet and all and though she might not admit it, it seemed that the “kilig-factor” was just the same.

at exactly 3:17 mark of this film, my wife gen perfectly captured one of the most powerful set of moving images i have ever seen. right on the money! something when i watch it again some ten, twenty years from now will make my jaw drop, make me say some profanities before the word wow, and remind me of the moment when i first saw it and reacted the exact same way. i’d love to describe the whole scene but this you should see for yourself! =)

oh….and no, karlo and anna, you don’t have to thank us. we thank you for giving us the opportunity to do what we so damn love to do! thanks again for the cupcakes! =)

2012 is not the end of the world//dj & jovy

Posted By bim in destination wedding, pampanga

destination wedding: virgen delos remedios repository chapel, pampanga
reception: lake shore, pampanga

three days into my three-week vacation, the longest since i began wedding filmmaking in 2007, i find myself in front of the computer and technically working as i blog about this wedding film we made a little over two weeks ago.

it was sticky hot in pampanga and summer has just kicked in. the bride’s make-up room was filled with laughter and crazy stories about dj and jovy’s love story. the best version perhaps and hands down the most amusing, was told by none other than the bride’s father. the beautiful soundtrack from kina grannis chosen by the couple themselves complemented their well-written vows. oh and i just need to mention, we had the best sisig served during lunch time, dj my man, you have got to give me the number of your supplier! =)

this was filmed twenty four hours before our wedding in australia, another film to watch out for. in the meantime, enjoy this one. =)

if you’re going to chan francisco//migs & kat

destination wedding: san antonio de padua, silang cavite
reception: antonio’s tagaytay
photo: erron ocampo
hmu: leo posadas
gown: vera wang
coordinator: blushing bride

with a startled look, as if she didn’t understand the question, katherine answered when erron ocampo asked her “meron ka bang angle?” (pertaining to a woman’s best angle for close-up photographs) “uhhhm, wala naman…?!?” in a strapless vera wang, she was breathtaking! and it gets better! she’s only the first of the four gorgeous chan sisters to get married!

meanwhile, at the church doors, i bumped into miguel for the first time that day. i shook his ice cold hands and i can tell that he is very excited. he should be because his big day was about to turn epic! =)

i’ve been waiting for a long time to use this song from coldplay’s brand new album and i’m totally stoked that migs and kat chose it. it’s about time. turn the music up and get your records on people! =)

destination wedding: chapel of transfiguration, caleruega
reception: balai taal, tagaytay
hmu: val villarin

some three years ago, dawn’s sister bek got married. that’s where she first saw our work and, i assume, is the reason why she decided to book our services. this outspoken bride, right off the bat, knew what she wanted as discussed how she wants her video to be fun. it just so happened that fun is my middle name…next to sexy, crazy and yum of course! =)

one question i ask still, is it every four years that one celebrates a february twenty-nine wedding? if so, i should’ve gotten married on a leap day!

Los Campesinos’ “You! Me! Dancing!” is not your usual wedding soundtrack but heck, it’s my kind of music!

father allen’s misalette boo-boo story never grows old. =) it has been modified quite a number of times and somehow catches me off-guard still every once in a while. i enjoy listening not only to his homilies but to those impromptu a capellas as well.

here’s deanne and raymonds same day edit featuring one of the most sought after wedding presider in calaruega today! enjoy!

thumbs up//joel & apple

joel is one tough cookie. he boldly fought off the tears as his bride walked down the aisle, hugged his mom, kissed his bride’s parents and took the bride’s hand. no traces of breaking down. as apple gives the traditional kiss to the groom’s mother, out of nowhere, almost pushing her bride aside, joel locks his mom for another embrace and his emotions just got the best of him. with that, my sde is an instant box office hit regardless of the overused ben rector song.

wedding filmmaking is not just capturing images that look good on camera. it’s the art, actually, of when to start and stop recording; the anticipation of what’s going to happen next; and the ability to come up with a meaningful story from the ever changing unwritten real life screenplay. wedding filmmaking is no easy task and i’ve been around long enough to understand that if you expect something to happen, you’ll end up with the same movie every time.

my wife and i had a chance to catch a movie on valentine’s day and believe it or not it was our very first valentine’s date. the fifteen-minute-turned-hour-long drive to the mall reminded us instantly why we rather stayed home in the past. the worst traffic though, has no chance of stopping us from watching another rachel mcadams box office flick (we watched “the notebook” on our very first date.) except perhaps for the boyish charm both our groom raymond and channing tatum possesses, there’s no relevant connection this movie/v-day experience has with this next wedding video. it just so happens though that our couple, raymond and kristine, had one beautiful exchange of vows of their own. =)

destination wedding: sacred heart church, cebu city
preps: marco polo hotel
reception: casino espanol de cebu
photo: jon tolentino

after five years in the wedding filmmaking industry, we finally had the chance to document a wedding in cebu. it was actually our first time in one of our country’s most beautiful cities, and i’m glad we had enough time to roam around! =)

like we always do, we spent a lot of time eating/finding the best places to eat…from the infamous larsian to the finest lechon restaurant cnt.

the legendary sinulog festival was just around the corner but it was a wild coincidence that gen was sporting a fiesta-ready nail polish during the wedding day. =)

there was a little time pressure creating this video being it needed to be available during dinner time…but i had tougher times. =) shout out to the bride’s cousin, anika, for introducing our work to the couple.

the banderitas are set. there was this cebu idol singing contest goin on, the “i love cebu t-shirts” were selling like pancakes (come to think of it, i missed getting myself one…dang!), and the sto. nino festival is ready to roll. unfortunately for us, our schedule won’t allow us to stay. no worries, some ten years from now, i see myself dancing and rockin’ under the rain with the rest of the cebuanos.
