beautiful weddings cannot be planned. trust me, i am speaking from experience. no matter how hard and how long the preparations take, it wouldn’t really make a difference. and, at the end of the day what matters is that you’re finally married. again, trust me, i am speaking from experience. at the end of the day, you’re married and that’s it, that’s the only thing that would matter. of course, waking up wasted the next day is a whole new story!

see, i am a wedding videographer. what happens during a wedding is already there even before i arrive. i wouldn’t ask anyone to go to jun escario and ask him to do the dress of the whole entourage. i wouldn’t ask the priest to sing a song or make people cry during a touching speech. i wouldn’t even ask the couple to pose…well…not unless they wanted to. i’ll just document whatever unfolds and i’ll try my best to be creative while i do it. the video is the story of how i saw (or in this case, how i heard) it happen. i’m glad most people like what i come up with. i hope you are one of them! =)

back when i was starting out, i chose upbeat songs for most of my onsite videos. i was very vocal about it that it became synonymous to my style. although it was far more difficult to edit, i liked the fast changing scenes that kept the viewers hanging on to their seats. i found satisfaction after every heart pounding moment and jaw dropping scene that almost always leave the audience asking for more.

somewhere along the way, after more than a hundred onsite videos, i saw beyond the boring slow motions and the risk of making cheesy videos of turtle-paced love songs. the videos i came up with did produce a different effect. the viewers are silent as they hold their tears back. emotional, classic and just plain beautiful. i love it.

see for yourself.

happy new year! better late than never. =)

what a year that was. 2009 was the best year i had since i entered the wedding industry, and may i say that things are still looking up! another year of experience gained and millions of lessons learned. there were a few bumps and disappointments along the way but you know what they say, what didn’t kill you will only make you better.

i had a lot of stuff in mind that i want to do, and everyday i come up with brand new ideas like documentaries and short films that could help spread awareness about everyday lives of ordinary people. perhaps i can get myself involved in helping out with the environment and make a little difference.

too many things to do and a lot of time to do it. for now, i’ll get back to business. back to the day tammy and enggay got married. from here on, i’ll make the video tell the story.

bora tree

what happened during the last four days of our lives was nothing short of legendary. from a beautiful wedding to broken bones. from fruitshakes to pizzas to isaws by the beach. rain or shine, it was, is and will always be my paradise.

a high-def video capable slr is my weapon of choice any day of the week. =) during impromptu vacations such as this, i’ll get myself a couple of snapshots because, well, that’s what all normal bakasyonistas do…

my wife and i.

summer mode on! expect more photos with the rayban in different locations in and out of the philippines coming soon!

the ban

red coconut’s margherita pizza is the bomb! try it out with overflowing tabasco on it! i always come back for more.

red coconut

the infamous “karate” jump shots.

flyuing kick

did i mention that i am a local legend?

yeah baby

…but i’m no ordinary bakasyonista. i’ll document this epic moment with a video camera and make four short films about it!

a korean dude came to me while i was enjoying my board and told me that he dreamt of skimboarding all his life. what the heck, i taught him the very first trick i’ve learned…fall down hard!

when you visit boracay, and i know you will sooner than later, you have to try the zorb! a little bit overpriced in my opinion but still one hell of a ride!

watch out for the onsite video that is equally legendary soon!

brandon and dianne introduced me to a great new world that is banapple during a meeting two weeks before their wedding that has nothing to do with their wedding (read it slowly.) see, i’ve always wanted to go to australia but the problem is that i have no idea how to. so i asked my groom to be to help me out a little because i have reason to believe that he’s an expert on the subject matter. =) now i am two steps away from making my dream come true. thumbs up! come brandon and dianne’s wedding day, when the groom asked me which of the three ties will go well with his suit, i figured it was my one and only chance to make it up to him. =)

i can’t imagine the bride wearing a gown with any other color. some women sure know what they want and what zharro wanted was everything that’d make her look dang perfect!

the bride was the last of the four carbonell sisters to get married but when the sisters met hugging and crying down the aisle, her dad was in tears while pulling them away from each other. like it was his first time giving away a daughter. =) man that was just epic!

forget about that emotional scene with the sisters, don’t mind the beautiful vows. my friends, the shot of alfred at the altar looking oh so fine while waiting for her bride totally made this video.

shout out to jong mesina and zharmagne (i loved the edit: pili tarts your grandma baked) for introducing my work to the couple.

the couple was one of our first ptv clients. as a matter of fact, they were one of the first ten couples who booked us when we launched a promo almost two years ago. =) nope, they weren’t the type who’d book a supplier ever before getting engaged. it’s just that during the preparation period, unexpected things happened that they had to change their wedding date twice (or maybe ever more.) =) luckily, i was available every single time!

guess what’s the groom’s favorite color.

when a bride answers before the question is asked, you know she’s really in love! =) this video stars a wonderful couple in an emotional wedding at nsdg. =)
