eight out of the last ten weddings i had was held in santuario de san antonio and the church’s facade, my friends, has never been this kick ass! man, was it ever? i don’t know, maybe the groom’s car, the audi r8 (better known as ironman’s ride) helped a little. =)
i’ve had my 17-40mm wide lens for the canon 5d for quite a while now but i haven’t really used it for gliding (which is why i bought it in the first place) yet. better late than never they say, so in this particular wedding, i used the glidecam 4000 again after a million years (i had a designated glider during weddings in my team,) and surprisingly, i got the hang of it sooner than later. =) to be honest, it’s more like i was trying to create something different. i want to surprise people. exceed their expectations. somebody once told me (or was it i video i saw) that if you delivered what the client is expecting, you did not do your job — changed my life!
santuario was jampacked and that, i have never seen before. most of them fell in love with the couples vows. if you listen closely, if you feel the words, you might too. that i can almost guarantee. =)

i felt a lot closer to joan’s mom who did most of their wedding preparations while she and her fiance were abroad. one more meeting and we would’ve been facebook buddies. =) fortunately, i had the pleasure of meeting the couple twice before their big day. during our first meeting, i found it impressive that joan remembers accurately what my blog entry was about on every single onsite video i played. yes, seriously. =)

andrew and doris were the first couple to book our high definition package. i remember explaining that the final output will be in bluray discs and they will need a bluray player or a playstation 3 and an hdtv for optimum video experience. =) worry not, my friends. fortunately for the rest of us, we won’t need a bd player nor an hdtv to watch high resolution video. thanks to vimeo, i can upload high-def videos online for everyone too see. cool stuff. =)

more than three months before i become non-eligible to gq’s prestigious “100 most desirable bachelors” list, my great friends from the wedding industry threw one hell of party for me and my fiancee. it was a surprise and i never saw it coming. =)

queen did a great job setting the whole thing up. when she asked for an appointment with us in makati, i almost turned the offer down. we don’t, after all, meet clients outside our office anymore. =) but then again, it was queen, my very own wedding coordinator, asking. how the heck can i turn her down?

it was a wild night. =) people were screaming most of the time. we had great singers in the house…except jayson who almost bummed everyone out with his verion of rey valera’s maging sino ka man. a lot of fun, nonetheless. heck, i didn’t even mind when another couple stole the show. =)

there even were games played and prizes for the winners…and the best part, we received a lot of gifts!

again i’d like to thank everyone for being a part of this awesome night. queen, david, paul, ayvih, jayson, joanne, chug, mai, jesy, erron, teddy, jc, jenn, mae, rose, sim, sherwin, abet and benz, we loved every second of it.

chug made a video of the whole thing. watch it here.

man, they’re getting younger and younger. my couples, that is. then again, it’s the generation where my style suites best.

same hotel, different country and a totally different story. =) i had more than fifteen minutes worth of clips of the church facade that day and i just can’t get enough. guess how long i used in the actual video.=)
this aqualung song is officially my straight-from-the-airport onsite song. a product of a two-hour sleep, this sde goes straight into my list of all-time favorites. you blink, you miss the couple’s moonwalk (two thumbs up for the fun-loving couple paying tribute to the king of pop.)
fall in love with the vintage look.

the trip had some twists and turns and the experience is just awesome. i am very lucky to have the nicest couple, who couldn’t have treated my team any better, in my first out of the country wedding.
well, where do i begin?
friday. 12 noon. my team arrives. two shooters and myself. no assistant. i still had no idea how to pull off the sde alone. my shooter “accidentally” checked an h1n1 symptom on his health clearance causing a fifteen minute stop at the airport clinic. the make-up artist was detained by the immigration for a good 2 hours. i waited. could’ve seen bruce lee at tsim sha tsui. went to our hotel. took the train to mongkok. wing shing’s prices were rip-off. went back to the hotel. ate dinner. best noodle soup in my life.
saturday. wedding day. 7 am. noodle soup store was still close. ate breakfast anyway. shot the groom’s preps. shot the bride’s preps. went back to the hotel for the reception. finished the onsite video. logged in to facebook. sent a couple of messages. reception party time. went back to our hotel. the storm came. signal number 8. my flight the next morning might get delayed. the noodle soup store was closed. broke my heart. looked for a place to eat dinner. slept with an unsatisfied tummy.
sunday. 4 am. got ready to leave. still raining. bought a gift. took a nap at the airport. flight got delayed for thirty minutes. arrived at santuario de san antonio an hour before the wedding….okay, i’ll stop twittering here…the next things that happened is for a different wedding. =)
man, what an experience it was. it couldn’t possibly get any better. i promise, when i write a book about my life, and i will someday, this whole experience get to have it’s own chapter. check out the video.
