february 10, 2009 – calaruega

i lost count how many days ago since i received the great news of us getting into this year’s w@w’s top ten suppliers and yet, i still can’t believe it. =) the feeling’s just not getting old! again, i thank all the w@wies who nominated us. i do hope to see y’all come the big event this march.

as much as possible, i’d love to use a different song every new video. i like mixing up stuff, trying to add a little extra something once in a while and most of all, the challenge that awaits forces me to come up with fresh ideas every single time. on the contrary to this, we have used the song in this next video not two but a record three times!

dianne requested me to capture tzu (who promised not to cry, in tears.) i was informed that they had a bet-should the groom shed tears, she gets an LV bag. i forgot what happens should it be the other way around but i believe she wins either way. =) true enough, like every man who took the stage before him, when he saw his bride for the first time, he was overwhelmed with his emotions. i’m not sure what their rules were, but i think i caught the groom wiping his tears twice in this video. haha!

holy sh*t!!!

it’s still sinking in…every hour or so, it hits me! we are very glad to inform everyone that we have been nominated for this year’s weddings at work’s “supplier of the year.” this is the biggest thing that’s every happened to us.

i’m in freakin’ ecstacy!!! i’m lost for words. thanks to all the w@wies who supported us.

back in december 2007, we had the pleasure of covering the wedding of pizza (dana’s sister) & jayson galura. =) as soon as they received their final video, i got a text message that i have been keeping in my celphone for a long time now. it says:

i can’t help but to let u know agad how happy we are. ibang-iba talga pag video. sbi ng sister ko, FEEL na FEEL tlga. i really appreciate it. i cried pa nga again! i love din nga pala the candid shots. nakakatuwa =) i love everything about it, it was well done. can’t imagine ang ginawa mong pag edit. continue loving it and you will go a long way, talented guy! wishing you all the best. thank you again for everything and you will always be a part of us. =)”

the expectations were obviously high. =) then again, seeing all the familiar faces during dana and marco’s wedding was a great experience to the very least. for a brief moment, i felt like i was part of the family. =) …and by the way, the day after, i got a text message from dana:

“hi bim and gen. Ü we just want to thank u both for the wonderful onsite video. you truly made our wedding more memorable. Ü for the 2nd time, hindi pa din kami nagkamali sa inyo!”

if i get really lucky, i’d be a part of mae’s (the youngest of the mendiola sisters) wedding some five to six years from now. =)

wow! almost a week has passed but still i’m powerless to overcome the overwhelming emotions. i was scared. scared to watch how people will react as my work is played in the big screen. i was proud. proud to be a part of an elite group of people in my industry. i was excited. excited to be officially introduced to the w@w community, suppliers and soon-to-wed alike. it was, after all, the biggest day of my career.

most must have seen the videos, but nobody knows what really happened…and the untold story is actually the fun part. as i have mentioned during the big day, everything was shot in high definition using the nikon d90. our lighting was very well planned…but paul vincent had other plans. it was a disaster when we shot jesy and erron’s segmet as the audio from the first take was not recorded. we had to retake some of jesy’s lines and the whole segment with erron and we ended up wrapping it up at 2 a.m. in the morning. david of just like ours also rewrote his whole script. my only regret was that i should’ve allowed him to deliver it in his interpretation of bonggang bongbong. our forrest gump script, i have reason to believe, was well written and in perfect grammar. until, of course, mango al, had an interpretation of his own. =) i hope you’ll enjoy watching the four videos that we prepared for the first ever w@w videofest as much as we enjoyed making them…i did mention that it’s high definition right?

since day one i posted all the onsite videos that i made and never ever did i imagine that someday, somehow, i’m gonna miss one. well, almost, to the very least…i knew something was missing. haha.

there was actually a little panic when i received the sms from the couple about their video. the confusion to my face was passed on to my “office manager” as i bombarded her with questions…where the hell is their file video? were we able to save a copy of their video? how the heck did we forget to post it? was that video good? are you sure we have saved a copy ‘coz i don’t remember seeing a folder of it in the hard drive?…turns out, she was able to save a copy of the whole folder in our hdd…and a copy of the mpeg file…and yep, it was good! the couple are just too gorgeous in front of the camera that any angle i took was money!…in addition to that, we’ll be seeing them again on their friend’s wedding come march fifteen…to tina and steve, i apologize for the delay, my bad. so, without further ado here’s the video. =)
